MailboxIQ Case Study: August Home Publishing Company

Founded in 1979, August Home Publishing’s mission is to provide consumers with guidance and inspiration in the areas of woodworking, gardening, cooking and home improvement. Its award-winning national publications including Woodsmith, ShopNotes, Garden Gate, Cuisine at Home and My Home My Style.

The magazines offer opt-in email newsletters that are deployed to their eager subscribers with helpful tips and advice on a weekly basis. These newsletters are used to boost customer engagement with the titles and to promote new and existing sales opportunities. As such, it is critical that the emails are always delivered to the inbox and are designed for optimal rendering and interaction on the devices and platforms that subscribers are using. 

After learning about the launch of Pivotal Veracity’s next generation, customer-level email tracking technology, MailboxIQ, August Home Publishing began using the solution to gain greater insight into its customers, including which email clients and devices they are using in today’s increasingly multi-platform, “Web 3.0” world of digital communications. Surprising revelations were had, and clear differences surfaced across the various segments that August Home Publishing mails to.
